Eventually adopted Plan B. So cycled to Hounslow. (Did not feel tired as I used to - have more good food nowadays.) Too late for the lecture so I walked along the Embankment to HMS President and made a few inquiries about the RNVR (I felt very windy as I approached!)

Later, went to the Poly. Left fairly early. A swift run back along the Great West Road. Reached the pub before closing time. Saw searchlights sweeping to and fro and heard the drone of some heavy aeroplane. Cold moonlight with a far “burr”.
