9:45p.m. No raids last night. One uneventful alarm so far this evening. There may be some really warm warfare here soon! We're taking up a no-retreat position. So if the enemy arrives here, as everyone hopes, we may take part in a decisive engagement.

I'm to have an interesting job – forward exchange, the link between OP's and the Troops. The light's not very good tonight so I'll kip down now. There won't be much rest in the near future, perhaps.
