Monday 22nd March 1943

Today the whole ward moved to another block – actually where Denny used to be.
Anastas the Cypriot and I have been separated from our old friends and put in the “A” tent. It had to be, as there were only ten beds in the “B” ward of the new block. Now I am among many Englishmen, who all seem pretty dull and wooden; they make fatuous, uniform jokes from time to time, and laugh in a uniform manner. It is a big ward and it is full of men.
