Sunday 30 May 1943
Seinukas has not returned yet, from ward 37. Incidentally, he had electric treatment a couple of days before his attack of yesterday...
This morning William Lias and I moved our beds down to the far end of the ward, where Crew and Store live. I have a corner bed, and it is quiet. On one side of me is Store, on the other side a wall. That end of the ward is inhabited almost entirely by Englishmen, but the other part was occupied by Jews, Poles, Arabs and an African. I think it is a good sign that I want to get back upon my own countrymen; until recently they have seemed more irritating than foreigners.
