Thursday 5th August 1943

Life is very easy here. Most of the day we lie on our beds. All meals are brought in. Last night one of the orderlies took us for a stroll around the camp. Pretty deadly, but it was exercise.

This morning I washed some of my clothes and paced up and down outside the building, and finished reading HG Wells' “Kipps” As soon as we'd taken the lunch dishes back to the kitchen, I slept until the tea was brought in!

We may be here only 48 hours, or we may remain a week or so.
