Sunday 19th May 1935

Those leisurely Sunday mornings. Arise an hour later – perhaps more – have a comfortable breakfast in the front sitting room. Sit long over the table, with a cup of tea, a cigarette and the newspapers. No hurry! Luxury!

Cycled over to Forest Park with John and collected Young. Walked to Winkfield and had tea at Gouldings. More comfort! We dawdled over the tea table, talking idly of sex and so forth. Bringing up Brockwell!

There is great delight in sitting long, after a good meal. Later, we tramped many miles. Sometimes fine weather, sometimes drizzley.
