Warm sunshine again. I happily donned the dark glasses. None of the prospects in my engagement book gave any orders but four casual calls result favourably! One Westcliff builder gave me a decent order for Egham Paint and Ceiling Distemper just before a rival – the Starline traveller – arrived. I took a £4-5-0 order but the Starline man was unlucky.
Turnover: £7 The fine weather counterbalanced the effects of the increased war panic.
When I stopped by the roadside to write reports the heat splashed around the car. I sweltered – and loved it!
