Saturday 28th June 1941

The charge temperature, an hour ago, was 100F, Tom Gibbon tells me. That was in the shade, in a cave. Here, under a canvas sheet in a windless sheltered gully leading out of a wadi, it is probably even hotter.

It is a week since I had a bath and three days since I washed. So I feel somewhat dirty and hot.
