Sunday 8th March 1942
Troop Church service in the large cave, whilst AA guns boomed outside. Fraser, Search and myself are down for Confirmation. There will be one week of preparation!
There is a good deal of bombing here, as usual. Yesterday morning a nice line of bombs fell at the bottom of this escarpment, in our wagon lines, but without doing any damage. In the afternoon there was a super dive bombing attack on the harbour, causing flames and columns of black smoke. Another big attack today however, was dispersed by the AA barrage and shortly afterwards, to our amazement, swarms of RAF planes appeared!
