Wednesday 8th December 1943

The ward is not quite so crowded now, as several people have been transferred to “open” wards. There are plenty of magdnoon men here still, however. One of them ate one of our beloved ants this morning...

This afternoon I was marched out for a haircut, with Hardy, Jock Brown and Novak (a Czech) and with Farmer Jim the orderly in charge of us.

Joe Meek is in charge of boat rumours these days, and he predicts a big boat party this week.

We are allowed to go to the evening services in the church, now.
