Friday 21st April 1933

8.19 train to Mablethorpe. Changed at Louth. Very cold so I had a cup of tea in the refreshment room. The train to the coast. My carriage companion. A dreamy man who loved music and beauty but hated progress, science, and civilisation. We got on fine! Saltfleetby Station. Never been there since the War. Mablethorpe. Walked to Trusthorpe. Found the cottage easily. Family reunion etc. etc.

The sea was coming in when I left for the station again. Lovely. Racing white foam. Breakers. Spray. Reached Lincoln 7.10p.m.
