Sunday February 12th 1933
Cross country ramble with Akel and the scouts. Cold wind which made my face sore. Raw turnips, laughter, streams, ploughed fields, rats tails on a tree, drawing aeroplanes, the riverside. Lincoln Cathedral, wonderful as ever, loomed above the mist which shrouded the town. My last day as 19. Twentieth birthday tomorrow.
