Wednesday February 1st 1933

A ray of light - early closing day.

With Tom and Akel by car to Scothern. Walked from there to Sudbrooke Park. Winter. A blustering yet warm wind. Wandering through woods and empty fields. The stone summer house - a Georgian Folly. The lake and sylvan loveliness. A huge estate 200 acres. In a clump of trees we came upon the Chapel. An open space amid the trees. A made altar, contructed of stones from the Cathedral. The place for Vigil! It seems suitable. The gardens and the site of the house. The pool. Back to Scothern in the twilight. Drove home in the dark. (Chapel not a building, just a creation of Akel.)
