Sunday January 29th 1933
Mr. Langham (Akela) and his assistant in training called at 2.30. We motored to Sudbrooke Park which is in the camping ground of the 7th. A fine place. A lake, under ice. Crowds of people skating. Ominous cracks. Ice hockey. I borrowed some boots and skates and went on. Travelled about 2 furlongs at funeral pace. No falls, anyhow. The laughter of onlookers.
Drove into Lincoln at dusk. At home a talk about my future – have I one?
