One of the daughters from Wood Haw came to visit Harvey and I, re-dancing classes. Peggy is 18. Dark. Intense nervous energy. Very dark brown eyes, almost black. Moved quickly. Spoke suddenly. Riding dress. I bought a packet of “Nosegay” Shag cigarettes, vicious and strong. Prefer “Richmond Gem”.

(1982 Peggy – thus began my first love affair. It lasted – well, it seemed ages at the time – and was never very happy for long. Frustration. A pity I did not meet Audrey first.)
