Thursday 13th April 1939

Four orders. Cronin, Brentwood; Kind, Upminster; Warriner, Romford and Ardley, Billericay. The last was an agricultural engineer – haulage contractor – farmer outside whose premises I’d stopped to write reports. He was apparently a customer of Peter Somebody’s (Kind, Kane?) whom I meet at Joyce Leyland’s. Turnover £8.
