Sunday 14th January 1940
On guard this afternoon, once again. “Hard luck!” said everybody, “Fed-up, ‘aint yer?” I didn’t mind though! I’d been free to go to the dance, and to Nottingham.
Much greater comfort at the guard room now. A hot water pipe runs through and there’s a boiler furnace in the next room.
Tonight the orderly officer turned us out at 10:45. I slept from 11:15 until about 8 o’clock next morning!
