An interesting day which however leaves me restless – because I have spent unnecessary money.

When the girl brought my pay I was crouching over a set of fires, adjusting them. (Roar in my ears and blaze in my eyes).

A one sided argument with a lady of Socialist inclinations at the library. She squashed me heavily, emphasizing my youth and inexperience.

Chat with the watch man, as I puffed my pipe. He is leaving after tonight.
