Thursday 23rd and Friday 24th November 1933

Quiet days. Peaceful at work, tranquil evenings. Serenity has come back to me, now. Thought I should never be able to sit and quietly read again, but calmness has returned.

Peggy met me at the Medes on Friday (I knew she would). She loves to tantalise, tease. She says things which she hopes will dash me and then glances quickly to see the effect. So I scowl gloomily, whereupon she is pleased and so am I! Two workmen saw us together; I felt proud to be with her.
