Thursday 6th June 1935

Evening – sheets of rain. The buses turned round at Langley – rain and mud. Pageant off.

Peggy was on no.5 coming back and looked rather deadly. I called her “dear cousin” and lighted her cigarette.

After leaving the bus, Di and myself called at the Swan. Then I cycled to Thorpe… Driving rain.
