Thursday 30th and Friday 31st May 1935

Use the Staines bus now – no. 5. Non-stop from Runnymede to Langley. Like the passengers better also. No frantic rush – it leaves Egham half an hour later than no. 3.

Arrive home just after midnight. Never asleep before 1 o’clock. Returning, I stand at the end of the bus and look aloof. Haven’t begun to feel tired yet.

They say Langley is not so good as Runnymede – could it be?
