Friday 8th November 1940
The first air raid of this moon occurred tonight; “they” fell just this side of Sidihanaish Station.
The third lot of replacements came this evening from Base – and they are all old 104th men! I listened eagerly at the exchange, whilst RHQ read out the names of 339 men to our Battery office. “Lance Sergeant Pond, Bombardier Chenery, Gunners Cole, Stiles, Batler, Pendlebury and Gibbon” To me, it was, Sid (Podgie), Jack, Ernie, Doug, Tubby, Jim and Tom.
