Cousin Wilf turned up unexpectedly and stayed for lunch and tea. Nice to be able to talk to someone again. Went down river to Staines bridge – Wilf rowing, I steering.

I am never really at ease with anyone until we can talk of personal things together. And I love people to give me their confidence.
