Walking towards Egham in the morning, I met Peggy, cycling, in farm dress again. She at once became uneasy and shy, could hardly look at me, and said “Hullo!” as she passed, in her unique, stiff, pseudo careless way. Which I enjoyed, of course!
Have discarded my filthy old suit and now wear grey bags and a sports jacket (no waistcoat). Feel much more comfortable thus.
Felt tired at the days’ end and did nothing in the evening. Wonder when I’ll be moved from the making shop? Seven months now.
