Thursday 22nd February 1934

Glorious weather continues!

I try each time I think of it to train my voice. A cultivated (not affected) voice is a powerful factor in winning one’s way.

At work the electricity suddenly failed. Queerly the fire’s roar dwindled and ceased. Had to switch over to water pressure. During overtime (until 6) I boldly produced my pipe instead of the usual cigarette. St. Julian tobacco.

Two new diggers coming to Magna Charta – a girl friend of Harvey’s and a mysterious business man.

Painting with Ron – our most sincere, reserved and unaffected member, perhaps. Not tired today, despite last night.
