Fog. At work until 6.15, making a flat varnish. TocH, painting the walls until 11p.m. then Forge House with Taffy. Baked beans on toast this time. Home 12 o’clock.

Long argument with Ford, as we painted; he is a socialist. Ron, however, is conservative and gave me some support. Useless to argue with socialists, really. They say such ridiculous things.

Money has not run out yet but I see scarcity ahead!
