Sunday 21st January 1934
A cold and frosty day. Morning stroll around Coopers Hill. Must go there again; many unexplored footpaths. During the day I polished up “The Rope” and after several fruitless attempts, brought John safely to Lake Ogwan. But the mood was not really on me, shall probably have to write the Ogwan and Tryfan scene again, at least.
