Tuesday 29th March 1938

Today I called again on Greenbaum, the Austrian Jew who received me so rudely at my first visit, yet gave me an order the next time. Today we discussed Egham paint. He beat me down from 13/- to 11/6, then ordered 5 gallons. “And please,” he concluded, in that attractive accent, “Call more often!” A lucky day today. Three orders and – to my amazement – Copeland my bete noir, settled his February account!

Dress rehearsal for !Fantastic Flight” this evening. All went well.
