Dovercourt and Harwich journey today. Took one order! – from an RDC housing estate where our materials were specified – worth £3.
Now, as in last September, I revert to news headlines. They are more grimly calm than the frantic scares of last autumn:-
“Russian-German Pact now Signed”
“Rush for Black-out Material”
“Britons Warned to Leave Germany”
Mr Chamberlain, in the House of Commons this afternoon, said, “The country finds itself faced today with imminent peril of war… Catastrophe has not yet come and there is still hope that reason and sanity may reassert themselves”.
