Monday 26th March 1934
Up 7.10, down 7.30, hearty brekker; away 7.50, High Street 7.55, Bridge 8 o’clock. Along the quiet towpath, reached work 8.25.
A few sandwiches at lunchtime, sitting relaxedly on a felled tree in a quiet part of the Medes. After sandwiches, one pipe and one cigarette. Sleepy thoughts. Passing schoolboys disturbed my solitude. Back to Staines along the Riverside; not much to do this evening.
(Two and a half pages of the journal torn out here.)
