Monday 2nd October 1933
Busy at work with Bill. Cleaning out an old paint storage tank. Myself down a ladder, inside, while Bill took the buckets of paint as I handed them up. Afternoon, as usual changing the hot gum from fire pots to tanks and pumping up spirit.
Evening uneventful. Gave a tramp sixpence this morning – I liked him. Leaves me with a penny and a farthing.
Note on Finance: -
Having determined to make money, I am fortunate in being able to start at practically zero – A lucky farthing perhaps. Thus my total capital is ONE PENNY, and a farthing. It is unlikely to become less than that so I can safely call my first chapter of the climb “Rock Bottom”.
