Thursday 28th December 1933

Not much work to do, at the factory. Still waiting for a supply of oil. Warmest job (unfortunately it was soon done) was loading a lorry with those 32 barrels of foots. Now they are gone.

Evening: Bought Turkish cigarettes – “444 State Express” and “No 1 Abdullah”. Have also a box of “Craven A”, so am well stocked. Forge House snack bar; had a chat with a road mender and smoked Abdullas. Smoke and Society! What more?
