Drove leisurely back to Stock, through the West End, City and Ilford.
International situation still unchanged. “Notes” pass between Britain and Germany every day or so and they are popularly supposed to be of a more friendly nature. Nothing whatever is officially divulged however. Hope we are not preparing to hand Poland over, like Czecho-Slovakia!
I’m now willing to lay 10/- to 2/6 that there will be no war arising out of the present crisis. That’s pretty impressive, because I seldom bet except on certainties!
