Sunday 4th February 1940

Heavy rain and the start of a thaw. No Church Parade; and at breakfast, the Orderly Officer announced that, the proposed route march having been cancelled, there’d be no more parades today. There were cheers! The officer seemed slightly hurt; perhaps we should have looked disappointed!

Quarter to four now and I’m seeing Eileen at six. Guess I’ll kip down for a bit!
