Monday 9th and Tuesday 10th October 1933

Two days have passed. Interesting at work, dull in the evenings. Monday was cold so I had a fire lit in the sitting room at teatime. Cheery flames flickering.

Tuesday: warm, rough wind from SSW. Early to bed both nights. Nothing to do. I watch the clock in my spare time as I do at work. September 10th – a month ago – we returned from Torksey. That was the last chapter in “Summer of Pleasure” (one volume of my life!)
